We Celebrate Our Children - Religious Education Sunday

We Celebrate Our Children
Sunday services applaud our children’s accomplishments, and celebrate their future.

We call it “The Bridging Service,” and it capped off our “Religious Education Sunday.” This is one of those weekends where the members of our congregation saw first hand how impacts the lives of all our children.

From pre-school through high school, our religious education program teaches our children how to live Unitarian Universalism’s seven principles. The religious education teachers also learn a thing or two from their charges; a result of shared ministry that ought not to surprise, but never fails to do so.

The 9 a.m. service celebrated the accomplishments of the younger children; pre-school through Junior High. At the 11 a.m. Bridging Service, we celebrated our graduating seniors and dared to dream their future with them.

Zoe Alexander, Sam Brodax, Conor Collins, and Brenna Prather closed our service when they literally walked their bridge to young adulthood. Teagan Fallon, Chris Tozzoli, and Chris Winn were not present at the service, but our applause for the bridge-walk was nonetheless long, sincere, and with eyes that blinked back our tears.
