Pre-school(4 year olds) through 1st Graders

 Curriculum: “Walking the Rainbow Path: Celebrating All the Colors of Love” by Rev. Laurie Bushbaum
 
This curriculm is designed: to help young children understand Unitarian Universalist principles (the Rainbow Path), to be able to name their religious/spiritual experiences, nurture their spiritual growth, give them stories and language for a framework of a belief system.  As a group they will keep a journal, have a "Treasure Table" to focus on beauty and wonder (understanding what an altar is) and the children will be offered opportunities to create and share what is beautiful with each other.
 

Examples of lesson themes:
  • An Apple Communion service during their session time,
  • Sacred places, What is Beauty,
  • Death/Celebrating All Saints Day,
  • Social Action projects - Homelessness, Giving to the World,
  • Growing peace & happiness in self and the world,
  • Explain the UU Chalice symbol,
  • God, Prayer, Honesty, Forgiveness, Generosity,
  • How Bad things can turn into good things sometimes,
  • The Joy of experiencing nature,  
  • How UU's welcome and dedicate babies.
