- Parent's Invited to Religious Ed. Meeting for planning 09-10 The RE Committee invites parents and other interested adults to it's January meeting on THURSDAY, 1/8/09 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm to discuss the planning of next year's curriculum and program organization for 09-10. The RE committee is charged with gathering input from you. Please contact a member of the RE Committee: Samantha McCoy, chair, Fern Paes, David Payne Suzanne Perry, Barbara Searing, or DRE.
Religious Education Plans for Sundays in Jan.
JAN. 4th
Group sessions at both 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. are based around the importance of asking questions and continued learning (a Unitarian Universalist principle!). Many groups will learn about the story of Jesus as a young boy, so engaged that he lost track of time in the temple. The 9:00 a.m. K-2nd group will talk about what is a "saint" in the Christian tradition (with examples) and people with qualities of goodness in our UU heritage as well.
9:00 am 7th-9th OWL (Our Whole Lives) meets upstairs
4:00 to 5:30 pm - 10th –12th OWL meet in the Youth Room (No Sr. High YouthGroup)
JAN. 11th
General Group Sessions: 9 a.m.Pre-schoolers "People Help Me" (different Helping professions), Many groups will talk about the important biblical figure of Moses (groups will look talk about various topics relating to his story - compassion for suffering of others and learning about your identity, adoption and sometimes leaders/heroes can make mistakes too
9:00 am 7th-9th OWL (Our Whole Lives) meets upstairs
11:00 am 6th-8th grade Junior High Youth Group meets
4:00 to 5:30 pm Senior High Youth group
JAN. 18th
(Martin Luther King, Jr holiday weekend)
General Group Sessions (sessions topics include Pre-scholler's "I Can Help", to the Biblical story of David and Goliath, David as a leader, musician, as the youngest one chosen. Compare to MLKing and others who have made the choice to help and care about others.
NO 9:00am 7th-9th OWL (Our Whole Lives)
4:00 to 5:30 pm Senior High Youth group ? There is a Youth Conference this weekend some may wish to attend. Contact Youth Group advisors: Randy Smith or Chansoda Roen
JAN. 25th
General Group Sessions: Pre-schooler's session "I Can Share" (not easy for this age but encouraged!), And most groups will explore the biblical figure of Solomon (as leader, writer of proverbs, wisdom in making decisions, builder of the temple)

4:00 to 5:30 pm Senior High Youth group ?
