“Our Roots and Perennial Questions: Important Names, Stories and Ideas from the Hebrew and Christian Bibles”
            written by Mary B. Collins

This curriculum is a “small-group ministry” model for our elementary and middle school aged youth.  We anticipate the following groupings:  6th-8th graders, 3rd-5th graders, 2nd grader and under.  Each group will respond with age appropriate questions and activities to the fundamental themes and characters of Jewish and Christian Bibles - with a UU perspective (respectful comparisons will be made with other religious stories, mythology, and science for similarities and differences).

After the “Story For All Ages” in the Fellowship Hall, all children and youth will move over to their assigned rooms in the RE House to reflect on the theme of the day.  Each small group will also light it's own chalice, share their joys and sorrows, and then see how the theme of the day resonates with their experiences and questions,  further discussion and activities to reinforce and draw out the main theme.
